devishly cute

Image
She likes having her picture taken, and she'll ask in her cute little baby speak if I can take her photo. I've not the heart to say no. Especially when she screams loud enough for the whole of Fagali'i to hear! Anyway, so I've compiled quite a collection.

The many faces of Noelani

I like this one. Noelani grinning her "I'm so cute I can get away with murder" look

big bad bloggerland

MAN! I've just spent the last 2 hours, since I finally finished my goddamn cover letter, browsing through blogs [I know, I know, I have no life] and I was pretty surprised by the sheer number of people that actually do a serious job of blogging about everything about something and nothing. Seriously, people argue about world politics and have nothing to say the next day, and say so. It's a whole 'nother mad jungle society out there ~ the virtual bloggers society/ community/ clique or elite even, if you like. Content-rich blogs with links to other blogs, even blogger's society having a meeting [To talk about what? What the latest blog layout is?] I even caught wind of weblog awards!! It's actually stupid that I'm surprised... but the fact is I am. I'm not surprised that it happens, heck I do it, I blog, I browse, heck I even did a survey that said I was addicted to the internet [that can't be healthy]... I just always thought that to spend so much …

My brand spanking new niece at 4 months. If you find yourself [as I am] talking in baby gibbersh and making "you're such a kewdie aren'tcha...goo goo gaa" sorta speak.. Don't worry, she has that effect on people. Then again, maybe its just me.. hah!

looking for distractions

Sounds: 'Over-hearing' as opposed to eavesdropping on some tourists conversation about the pretty fabrics they'd bought at the market.
Feeling: Giddy.. ha!

While procrastinating from writing this blasted cover letter [yeh I'm still trying to fool someone into actually paying me], I've decided I'd found the time to set up my G-mail account... 2000 Megs of memory at my greedy little fingertips. *Evil Laugh*.

If you're Giga-hungry like me and haven't already ~ I highly recommend, you find someone on G-mail that loves you enough to invite you and sort yourself out with a G-mail account. Send me an application if you have no such friends, my friend. fotu.vaai@gmail.com

Now all I have to do is find me some friends to send me stuff to use it up... "Hellllllooooo" *Echoing* "Hellooo Hello Hello... hello...."

Cos old grudges suck

Some liberating words of wisdom, common sense really, but it never hurts to emphasise.

Let it go for 2005
By T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone. When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left. The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay. Let them go. And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's p…

an important life lesson

A lesson learned the hard way this morning with Pinati's Saturday Soup.

"No matter how hungry or how greedy [whether or not you choose to admit that!] you are... Always eat hot soup SLOW!!!"

DIY Makeover

Image
So my one minute blog story... I decided to give myself a DIY haircut! Much to my cousin's shock horror.. who didn't tell me not too but was giving me madly disapproving looks as I searched for the nearest snipper. So I went ahead with it anyway... after all ~ its hair, it grows back. The effect ~ I wasn't unhappy with it, but my cousin reckons I look like I'm "from New Zealand." Now if you know me.. You'll vouch that I'm absolutely a 'local' to the core, I'm a walking billboard for Samoa and have a thing or two to say about people that claim to be Samoan... its a whole nother blog but the point is ~ the comment that I'm from anywhere other than Samoa, is against who I am, it's practically everything I'm NOT! So I brushed it off, and scoffed "Yeh watever ... I like it."

Confident that I'm every bit the 'local' off we went.. glamm'd up and out on the town.. as 2 single girls do on a Saturday night.

Sounds: Lyric ~ "Don't worry about a thing, coz every little thing is gonna be alright..."
Feeling: *Yawn* Tired.

Sitting here in the midst of Apia morning, yawning and tired from the past weeks 'episodes' shall we call them. Been going out, err.. quite a bit. I'm not sure how I even afford to go out considering I don't have a job or a parent to bludge off... I guess I survive "aua le alofa tunoa" or literally translated "out of pure and endless love"... actually translated as the unofficial dole!! While I'd say being on any kind of dole hardly suits anybody... being poor and unemployed and on the unofficial dole has its perks, like ~ no job stress or assignment deadlines to chase, the excuse that you're "on a break" and you'll find work um...soon! and of course there's being able to live off the "alofa tunoa." haha... I can't believe I'm justifying having no job... oh well, for the mean time..…

Sounds: Lyric ~ "You should''ve known better than to doubt me, it don't matter if you're up or down, I'm gonna be around."
Feeling: Optimistic

Well... my blog today, as its title suggests describes my visit to my childhood home. My family home at Siusega. Its home, its where I grew up.. lived most of my life right up until I left for Uni in 2002. My family moved to New Zealand in 2003 and at the moment nobody lives there... so the Vaai's have moved out and the damp, desolate, overgrown jungle of abandonment have taken over. Why don't I live there? Why doesn't anyone live there. Well, the only answer I can think to give to that is ~ its a long story. So anyways, on Saturday when netball was cancelled and I had a car full of kids to keep under control until their Mommies had finished playing golf, I decided to go for a ride to visit a "haunted house" as they called it. So off we went.

So its a big, beautiful house thats in good condition.…
